Just Breathe - RIP Michael Jordan

I've cried so many tears
My heart heavy with sadness

Breathe in and breathe out
Push away my pain; breathe
Breathe in and breathe out
Just breathe, help me heal

Look at you sitting there
With that smart ass grin
Talking smack and drinking beer
Hanging out with your friends

You totally crack me up
And make me crazy too
Keep all my secrets secret
It's why I love you

Hey cuz what's up with you
Wrap your arms around me
Show me some family love
Call me girl and laugh

Reality check, just a dream
You're walking with the Gods
Looking down on me here
Whispering girl in my ear

Breathe in and breathe out
Push away the pain; breathe
Breathe in and breathe out
Just breathe, help me heal

The time has come Michael
For good-bye, but not forgotten

NFL Football

Well the football season is here, YES!!  Week two has passed and it was an interesting weekend for sure for teams/players all around... not to mention the fans!  I'm a die hard NE Patriots fan but in general follow all the games checking in on injuries and plays like a psycho!  That was no different for me last night.

I'm still stunned that Tony Romo went back into the game with a cracked rib... amazing stuff... I couldn't do it.  Mike Vick, I feel bad for the guy... great player... a concussion took him out.  Patriots had their share of injuries as well, Hernandez (scored first TD of the game WTG), Chung (hand), Mesko (knee)... I'm missing someone, but you get the idea.  I hate injuries for any player... makes the game not as challenging at times.

However, every now and then a play you just do not expect happens on the field and you just start jumping up and down cheering that player on!  Our own Vince Wilfork #75 was THAT PLAYER last night.  He made an amazing run on the field... for a guy as big as he is you don't expect to see him running down the side!  I'm telling you it was sweet!!

I can't leave out my all time favorite QB Tom Brady... week one he threw 500 yards... that's right... in one game!  Followed that up with a 440 yard game yesterday!!!  That's right, say it with me.... BAD ASS!  In two consecutive weeks he has gotten 940 air yards... truly amazing!  I saw a tweet that cracked me up - Eli considers himself an elite QB - someone responded - that makes Brady is beyond elite.  Love it! Yeah baby, I do!

So, all in all it was a great day of football yesterday.  Looking forward to next weekend!  Get the shirts, the chips and the beer ready cos I'll be hanging out watching the games and following twitter NFL tweets.

-Peace Out xx

Emphatic - Bounce

This is the official video of Bounce from Emphatic's debut CD Damage, released on July 12th. They have a sound similar to Nickelback, not all songs but a few. When Bounce first started playing on WCCC my husband was the one to clue me in to this up and coming band. I love the CD and I'm looking forward to hearing more from them down the line. Take a listen to them in my video bar and check them out for yourselves.
Enjoy!

The Lonely Tree

This tree image was found at and is the property of:
http://www.digital-photography-school.com/21-impressive-tree-images

The land stretches far and wide

Great expanses of dusty brown earth

But wait, look there, a lonely tree

Branches reaching heavenward

Reaching out to touch the sun

A gentle rain starts to fall upon its’ leaves

Lush, green and wonderfully fragrant

Hear its’ beckoning call to you

Take cover beneath my canopy

Rest oh weary traveler, rest

Let your thoughts run wild

Then free them from your mind

Run your fingers over my trunk

It’s rough; rich from growth

Pluck a leaf from my branches

It’s smooth with veins; rich with life

My roots are strong and run deep

Have a seat among them weary one

Let them cradle you while you rest

When you leave my embrace traveler

Remember the life that surrounded you

Keep all your precious memories

Reach for a deeper peace

Continue to wander and discover

Across this land far and wide

Great expanses of richness and wealth

Do you believe in angels?

Ever have someone...
light up your day by saying hi
make you smile and warm your soul
lift your spirits and make them soar

Ever have someone...
except you for the person you are
allow you to be you, no strings attached
laugh and cry and share your life with you

Ever have someone...
bring you into their special world
give you a big hug just because they can
make you wonder at the beauty of friendship

Now I ask you again my friend,
Do you believe in angels?

A note from me...

I realize it's been a while since I posted and I'm sorry about that.  It's been a busy summer for me as it is for many of us. I recently had an amazing but insanely emotional visit with my cousin and am trying to bend my brains around all the thoughts swimming in my head, not to mention getting a handle on the feelings in my soul.

Discovery is truly an enlightening experience.  Like the breaking of a new dawn it can literally shatter ones illusions and when those illusions start to fracture you can be left feeling battered and bruised in your heart and mind. This is what happened to me and I didn't understand that until I was on my way home from my visit.

Some have read my piece about my cousins and me... my cousin died in an auto accident and we had been very close... I don't know why I reached out to my younger cousin (his bro) but I did and it was good, really good.  Only the higher powers that be know why we are placed on certain paths in life.  I've lost a couple  very important people in my world to tragic deaths and it sucks.  It really fucking sucks!

Anyway, my visit with my cousin was so awesome - yet (and yes, I am a very passionate person and feel things deeply by nature but come on I was over the top here) I was slammed so hard by grief that I spent a lot of time bawling like a big baby.  I'm like, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?? What I didn't know then but realize now is that I didn't allow myself to truly accept Mike's death... I couldn't, I didn't know how to let him go.

I still don't know how to let him go... I have been a wreck and am just trying to handle it... he was a great guy who was just always there for me. Even though the last few years we had lost touch I never thought for a moment I wouldn't hear him say, "Love you, girl." or have him hug me so tight just when I needed it.  He's gone and I don't want to say good bye, I just don't know how.

So, hang tight y'all while I figure it out... I'm hoping to spend some time alone reflecting on it and journaling my thoughts... maybe Mike will send me a creative vibe for my thoughts. He was right at my wedding when everything was so "ugh" I was desperately bummed... his comment to me as he yanked me out of the ladies room stall was... "Girl, it will be ok, just drink!" Gotta love him... will forever...

Thanks for reading and listening as always... I love your comments and your emails... thanks for following me as I traipse through life.

-Peace

I was thinking about what people talked about when their was trouble in couple'dom'. It seems to me that people don't pay enough attention to how their actions impact their significant other.  It's not about me, me, me and it's not about you, you, you; it's about we, we, we - made better because we invest in me and you.  Got that?  Makes perfect sense, eh?  Tap out a shout out and let me know what you think about it all... love your comments and your visits to my space in the cyber world.

1982 Billboard Top 10 Singles

I thought I'd post another blast from the past for those who are a product of the 80's. In 1982 I was a senior in high school and loved the music that I was surrounded by. Loved to dance, hang out, beach hop with my friends all along Volusia County, Florida beaches... tried surfing a time or two thanks to a friend who knew what to do with a surf board... yeah, yeah, I hear him now... Stick with a boogie board dude (so not a dude; but then that was Pete).... those were the days. Lots of fun and sun - oh yeah, remember when MTV first appeared on the tube... well, Daytona Beach rocked for spring break in those days. Concerts on the beach, parties all day long, concerts down the row in the band shell and then more parties all along the boardwalk. It's sad today to stroll that stretch of beach and realize all that is no more. The shops are gone, the boardwalk is not the lively party strip it once was. No boardwalk rides, no game rooms, no small ink shops, bikini shops, t-shirt haunts, or snack food stops. I still love those beaches but they are much quieter now than when my friends and I haunted them. But enjoy the memories these songs bring if you were kicking ass and living the fun life back then.

Enjoy your memories!!

A Sister's Love

An only child

She was

Until she heard

The story

A soulful tale

Of heartache

One before her

Life taken

Ask her today

She is

One of two

Loving him

Because he was

Her brother

Angel Baby

Another year gone by but it feels like yesterday.
My pain has not lessened with the passage of time.
I grieve and cry for you, I beg God to care for you.

I loved you; I still wish a wish that can never be.
Bittersweet memories of you moving within my womb,
Unbearable guilt and agony I can't let go; devastation.

My questions are the same today as yesterday.
Would you be outgoing and quick to laugh?
Or would you be quiet and observant?

Would you have your dad's smile or talent in dance?
Or would you love to read and write like me?
So many questions left unanswered, never born.

I wonder about you every day, heartbreaking.
I dream, that one day at the end of time,
I will come to a place and find you.

When that day comes I will know
With all my heart and soul that it's you.
Happy birthday, my sweet angel baby.

I love you, I will always love you.
I carry your memory in my heart.
XO Mommy

Honeybee

 Let me be your honeybee
Let me touch your body
Let me love you baby

I’ll make you weak in the knees
I’ll make you moan in ecstasy
I’ll make you beg for more

Your hands twisted in my hair
Your hands gripping my shoulders
Your hands touching my face

Let me feel your blood rush
Let me taste your desire
Let me be your honeybee

Rent - On Broadway

I love starting out the week with a music contribution. This week’s music post is about a Broadway Musical – RENT – unbelievable show – there are no words for this amazing piece of work. There is no way you could have seen it and not shed at least one tear. If you didn’t, then a cold heart you have, sorry if that offends anyone who saw it and didn’t cry. Actually I’m not sorry, I pity you, as you would have to be sadly lacking in human compassion (and a heart) to not have been touched by this show.

RENT closed a few years back; a sad day for Broadway and the masses who wish they saw it. In the late nineties I was lucky enough to see RENT. The show touched me in ways so deep that it made my life forever better. It opened my eyes and made me more aware of how life was affecting others in correlation with my own. A few years before the show closed my daughter went to see it and it moved her just as deeply. How could it not?

This phenomenal show touched on topics, at the time of its release, that were barely whispered about – they were taboo – homosexually, AIDES, drugs, homelessness and more of the “closet topics” – the ugly part of society as humanity has been conditioned to see it. Regardless of when the show was produced or the topics it promoted its message is as important today as it was when it was conceived. Check out the video and the video bar for other clips on RENT.

Also, for those interested in a chance to see RENT, off Broadway, here is some awesome news. RENT RETURNS! Previews begin July 14, 2011 – Opens August 11, 2011 – Visit New World Stages for tickets and more information http://www.siteforrent.com

Enjoy!
xx

I do not own this video. Posted for entertainment.

PS - There is a movie version of RENT that's not too shabby. Not the same as the play; but if you want to watch something with a message it's worth your time.

Life

Live your life as it is intended to be lived;
Full, joyful, loving, caring and compassionate.
To those who are cold, hateful and clueless;
Show compassion and understanding.

Be forever true, love and believe in yourself;
Life is more than judgments and empty eyes.
Look for true humanity among mankind
There you will find your most valued treasures.

Lady Gaga - Judas

Video shared for entertainment purposes. I claim no ownership.

I've mentioned somewhere on my blog that my music was eclectic; this just proves that point. This particular Lady Gaga song has some people pissed off - why? The minute a religious element is put into a song the fanatics raise their ugly heads and start pointing the evil finger. AHAHA! Get over it! It's a satirical piece, a parody... "bad boy/Judas" versus "good boy/Christ." Bad boys are sexy... good guys work harder sometimes... that's life. So to all you nut-balls, if you don't want to hear Gaga - simply turn your dial to a religious station and leave it there!

Lady Gaga is the featured artist in the video bar this week. Enjoy and have a fabulous week!

Memorial Day Tribute

As you remember those who gave all yesterday; take the time to think about the soldiers currently fighting.  We are lucky to be enjoying picnics with our families.  Let’s not forget the families praying their soldiers will be brought safely through the fighting that is going on today. I honor all soldiers serving and I’m grateful for those past and present who have served my country.  Thank you.
