Fast Five - GO SEE IT!!

Well, it’s out!  Fast Five arrived in theaters Friday.  I don’t know if you’re a fan of the Fast and Furious movies but I am… that’s right, I am.  I like fast cars… I like fast sexy muscle cars, always have.  The car I’d buy right now today if I didn’t live in New England is the Dodge Challenger… say it with me… yeah baby, it’s a fine piece of machine!!  However, the car I’m most likely to get next is the Dodge Charger which is featured in Fast Five.  Now, I don’t think that will happen this year, though I could change my mind anytime and with the incentives who knows.  I check it out every time I stop at the dealers.  Of course when I step up to the Charger the Challenger is there whispering my name, yes, it does speak to me.  I’m so afraid of what I’d do if I test drive the Challenger I won’t let myself.  Anyway, I do digress…

Fast Five is out and I can’t wait to go see it.  Vin has been posting updates about the film and behind the scenes pictures for fans driving my curiosity onward.  Along with that sexy Charger we have another form of sexy added to the cast, that’s right, Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock.  Is it the human sexy or the speed sexy that is more appealing?  I think it’s the intensely hot combination of both quite frankly.  Hot women, buff men, and fast cars, puleaseeeee, do not even say you can’t agree on that!  It’s hot; it’s damn hot, for both men and women.  It’s exciting, thrilling, and gets your blood pumping.

My all time favorite Fast and Furious film is Tokyo Drift filmed in 2006.  Of course, remember I haven’t seen Fast Five yet.  That form of driving though is totally off the hook.  It is so cool to watch that drift; it’s an orgasm on wheels!  I love these films, they just never get old… fast cars, sexy cast, definitely a sweet blend anyone can dine on.  So, go, enjoy the film.  Don’t let critics freak you out about it not being good enough or whatever.  Enjoy it for what it is – a film featuring a wide array of hotness – which anyone with a pulse can dig.

Here’s the official trailer – check it out – like you haven’t already seen it a hundred times on TV.  I’m simply giving it a place of honor on my blog – because I can. Rant or Rave about the film, what do you think?

Kid Rock - Collide

I decided to post the Collide video so it would have a permanent spot on my blog.  It's just too good not to share it!! Enjoy...

"Collide"

Kid Rock - Born Free

"Born Free"
Artist: Kid Rock
Lyrics to Born Free

Fast, on a rough road riding
High, through the mountains climbing
twisting, turning further from my home.
Young, like a new moon rising
Fierce, through the rain and lightning
Wandering out into this great unknown.

And I don't want no one to cry.
But, tell 'em if I don't survive

I was born free!
I was born free
I was born free, born free.

Free, like a river raging
Strong as the wind I’m facing.
Chasing dreams and racing father time.
Deep like the grandest canyon,
Wild like an untamed stallion.
If you can’t see my heart you must be blind.

You can knock me down and watch me bleed
But you can’t keep no chains on me.

I was born free!
I was born free
I was born free, born free.

And I'm not good at long goodbyes
But look down deep into my eyes
I was born free.

Calm, facing danger
Lost, like an unknown stranger
Grateful for my time with no regrets

Close to my destination
Tired, frail and aching
Waiting patiently for the sun to set

And when it's done, believe that I
will yell it from that mountain high

I was born free
I was born free
I was born free, born free

I will bow to the shining sea
And celebrate God's grace on thee

Kid Rock

Kid Rock!  What can I say about this guy?  I love to listen to him, true enough.  Many fans don’t like the direction he’s taken with his latest album Born Free; personally I think it’s awesome that he embraces his talents and can bend his words to produce great songs in many genres.  Let’s face it we don’t stay the same as we meander through life.

Another comment I often come across regarding Kid Rock is that maybe it’s time for him to revert to using his given name, Robert Ritchie.  I’m still debating this at this time to tell you the truth.  Branding is big business and that equates to money.  The changing of one’s brand can deliver great things or deliver you straight to the bottom of the heap and dump you out into nothingness.  Huge decision I can’t blame Bobby (I love hearing people refer to him by his name) for taking his time thinking or not about what he should be called.

If I had to choose only two songs on the Born Free disk it’d be Born Free and runner up Collide.  Most excellent in my opinion!  I’m going to post the youtube video of Born Free and the lyrics for you to check out if you don’t already know the song.  At the bottom of the post page you can click on more assorted Kid Rock videos… he’s being featured there until I decide to do another music posting.

Tell me what you think…

1.       Have you listened to the Born Free CD and if so, did you like it?
2.       What are your two favorite songs?
3.       Do you think he should stick with Kid Rock or go with Robert Ritchie?

Let’s talk about it.

A New Day

Outside my window
So much beauty to see
Won't you take my hand
And stroll with me

Leave behind your worries
The daily drudgery
If only for a moment
Seek the golden rays

Feel the sun so warm
Clouds wrapped in blue
Soak in the beauty
Let it fill you

Return with me now
Renewed in spirit
Inspired and invigorated
A new day's begun

Food for thought: My Reflection

I wrote “My Reflection” because of how I see myself and how others might see me.  When we see a person their image forms an opinion or an idea in our mind.  Sometimes it’s correct and others not so much.  A young man in the Chess Club might not feel comfortable asking a Cheerleader to the school dance… he thinks, “She’s too pretty and popular to want to go with me.”  Interesting how our minds process physical images… after we process that image we need to get a little closer and see if we are right!

My Reflection

My reflection in the mirror is not who I am… Not really.
It’s the physical me… But it is not who I am.
The spirit that dwells within my shell is who I am.
It’s what I want you to see… Me for me.
Close your eyes, take my hand, and look into my soul for who I am.

Happy Easter

I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.  When I think back on egg and early morning basket hunts for goodies from the Easter bunny that always made my daughter excited I am reminded there are moms and dads right now that are missing those special moments.

The first hidden egg found behind a tree or the laughter from a toddler as a little furry chick hops around his highchair table. These are moments we don’t get back. We can memorialize them with pictures but it’s the experience that weaves its way in and around your heart to last forever.

Enjoy your day and your special moments.

Lately I've had the desire to keep a journal...

Lately I’ve had the desire to keep a journal; but I’m not disciplined enough to write in one daily. Blogging is everywhere and everyone is doing it… so I contemplated the idea of journaling online. After all, I’m connected no matter where I am so it’s convenient to do and I don’t have to worry about toting a “real journal” around with me.

I’m not looking for fame or recognition; I’m looking for an outlet for the thoughts that swim in my head.  I won’t be sharing deep dark secrets of my life. What I will be sharing are experiences and random thoughts, writings and maybe some rants (hopefully tactfully written – I’m always working on tact; I wasn’t born with a drop!)

Ultimately I want my blog/journal to be a reflection of “Me.” I want my writing to bring insights on life… I want to find the goodness, the compassion, the spirit of humanity and let it flow from my fingers to these pages. I want to continue to walk through life with my eyes open and see life.  To be mindful that words are powerful and can do as much harm as they can good.

Walk a thousand miles in my shoes my friend and I will do the same before I cast any judgments’. Perfection is not a gift I possess and if I did I would gladly give it away to share a bench with a homeless person who has a special story inside them. I welcome your comments and thoughts or even your own stories, we all have one.
